ARTHUR RALPH SAUTER
Local business owner
Arthur Ralph Sauter of San Rafael died Jan. 29 of Alzheimer’s disease. He was 87.
Mr. Sauter was born in San Francisco.
He attended St. Mary’s College and the university of California at Berkeley.
He was the former co-owner of Stuart-Sauter Co. and Sauter Enterprises, which is now known at Greyhond Exposition Services.
Mr. Sauter was an avid fisherman, golfer and gardener.
Mr. Sauter’s first wife was the late Helen B. Sauter. He was the brother of the late Mildred and John.
Mr. Sauter is survived by his second wife, Alice; his sister, Elizabeth; son, John; daughters, Karen Petri and Nora Jane Hinds; stepsons, Clifford and Dennis Hall; and grandchildren, Brandon, Cristi, David, Daniel, Heather, Timothy, Christy, Jenny, Dawna and Drew; and one great-grandchild, McKenzie.
Services were private. Burial was at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery.
