VICTOR BARLOW
Victor Barlow, 81, a resident of Mill Valley since 1935, died at his home Sunday.
No funeral will be held at his request. His ashes will be scattered at sea.
Barlow was a self-employed insurance broker who worked out of his home.
He was born and raised in Oakland and moved to San Francisco as a young man. He was active in many hiking groups and decided to move to Mill Valley after taking a hike in the area.
While in the Army reserves in 1914, he took part in searching for Mexican revolutionary leader Pancho Villa. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War I.
He was a member of Far West Lodge No. 673 F. & A.M. of San Francisco, the Sierra Club and Mill Valley Post No. 284 of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Barlow of Mill Valley.
The family prefers memorial gifts to favorite charities.
