STEWART, Edward Joseph, 84, of Novato, passed away September 2, 2001. Keaton's Redwood Chapel, Novato, 415-897-1151.

Edward Joseph Stewart, A Resident of Novato
Passed away on September 2, 2001 at 84 years of age. Born in New York City, Mr. Stewart was retired from the Central Intelligence Agency. He held degrees, in law from Fordham University, and Cathedral College, New York. Mr. Stewart was in Naval Intelligence, World War II, an avid golfer, and a member of Our Lady of Loretto Church in Novato, California.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Stewart of Novato; sons, Jim Stewart of Bethlehem, Connecticut; Ed Stewart of Rohnert Park; and Bill Stewart of Novato; 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Mass will be held on Friday, September 7, 2001, 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Loretto Church. Burial at Memorial Cemetery to follow. Memorial contributions preferred to the Parkinson Foundation.
