JOHN E. GEORGE
John Edward George, a lifelong resident of Marin County, died Saturday in a San Rafael convalescent hospital after a long illness. He was 78.
A native of Sausalito, he was a painter who belonged to the Painters Union Local 83 since 1939 and worked for several contractors in the area.
He was married to the late Isabelle George, who died in 1967.
Survivors include a daughter, Joanne Daniels; four sisters, Anna Gates of Sausalito, Eva Blade of Morgan Hill, Roslyn Schoen of San Francisco and Margaret Johnson of Mill Valley; and two grandchildren.
No services will be held. Inurnment will be private.
The family prefers that contributions be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
