The news of the sudden death of Charles Fair and wife was first known in Sausalito Wednesday by a dispatch received by Joseph Harvey, who, with Mrs. Harvey, were intimate friends of both the unfortunates. The sad intelligence nearly prostrated the recipient of the telegram, and it cast a gloom over the entire business part of town, where Mr. Fair was so well known. He was a frequent visitor to Sausalito, and in addition to his favorite diversion of speeding automobiles, he was a great duck hunter and delighted in shotgun work. At the very time of receiving the dispatch, Mr. Harvey was directing the completion of the work on their extensive and costly buildings on their $20,000 duck farm near Suisun.
