Work of Grim Reaper
Another one of the pioneers of Tomales leaves a vacant place. Death is calling the roll and they are answering one by one. In the death of Mrs. Ellen Louise Gericke, a good woman, kind neighbor, and a noble wife and mother has passed to the other side.

Tomales Notes
On July 2nd, 1902, Mrs. Louise Gericke, wife of A. Gericke, died at her home a few miles north of Tomales, after a short illness. Deceased was 62 years of age. Besides the husband, 11 children are left to mourn the loss of a loving mother. The funeral services were held in the Catholic Church in Tomales where a requiem high mass was held on July 5th, by Father Rodgers. Mrs. Gericke was an old resident of this place, and was well and favorably known. A large concourse of people followed the remains to the grave in the Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Neil McIsaac and his daughter Mamie, of Nicasio, came up to attend the funeral.
