Soldier Dies in Car Crash; Others Hurt Over Weekend
One person was killed, one seriously injured, and several others suffered minor injuries in auto accidents in Marin over the weekend.
Fatally injured was S/Sgt. James Thompson, 21, of Statesville, N.C., stationed at Hamilton Field. His body is being shipped home by Guy W. Jenness mortuary, San Anselmo.
He was a passenger in a car driven by Sgt. Otto Wilson, 21, Hamilton Field. Wilson suffered shock and minor injuries after the car plunged over a 30-foot cliff on Lucas Valley road at 4:20 p.m. yesterday.
California Highway Patrol said Wilson’s car apparently went out of control and skidded 100 feet before sliding over the cliff….
