JOHN C. WOLFE DIED FRIDAY MORNING
Had Been Seriously Ill for Several Weeks
For 30 Years a Resident of San Rafael
John C. Wolfe, the pioneer druggist, passed away at about 6 o'clock Friday morning, July 25th, 1902, after a lingering illness of several weeks, at his home on D Street, San Rafael. He was a native of Ireland, 63 years of age, came to California 35 years ago, and for 30 years has been a resident of San Rafael, where he has been engaged in the drug business. He leaves a widow and one son, Maurice, aged about 14 years, to mourn his loss.
The drug business will probably be continued by Mrs. Wolfe, for the benefit of her son, when he becomes grown and able to take charge of it. In the meantime, Thomas Day, the efficient drug clerk who has been with Mr. Wolfe for several years, will conduct the business.
Mr. Wolfe was a man highly esteemed and as a druggist had the confidence of the people.
The funeral services at the residence Monday morning, were followed with Requiem Mass at St. Raphael's church, after which the remains were placed in their last resting place at Mr. Olivet Cemetery.
