J. CONRAD ABBETT
Electrical contractor

J. Conrad Abbett, a 34-year resident of San Rafael, died Monday, April 12, 1993, at California Presbyterian Medical Center in San Francisco after a long illness. He was 65.

Mr. Abbett was born in San Francisco and graduated from Lincoln High School. He attended the University of California at Berkeley.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.

An electrical contractor, Mr. Abbett was president of Abbett Electric Corp. in San Francisco, a family-owned business established in the 1930s.

He was past president of the San Francisco Electrical Contractors Association, the San Francisco Electrical Industry Bid Depository and former director of Franklin Savings and Loan.

He was also a member of the San Francisco Rotary Club, the Bohemian Club, the Electric Club of San Francisco and the Meadow Club.

Mr. Abbett enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Diana Abbett of San Rafael; two sons, Jeffrey B. Abbett and Gregory W. Abbett, both of San Rafael; a sister, Margaret Outsen of San Francisco; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service is set for 1 p.m. Friday at Halsted N. Gray-Carew and English, 1123 Sutter St., San Francisco.
