HERBERT ANDERSON
World traveler
Herbert “Andy” Anderson of San Rafael died Thursday, April 8, 1993, at home. He was 83.
Mr. Anderson was born in South Dakota.
He attended business school in Minneapolis and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was employed by the Department of Transportation for 30 years, working as a division manager at Fort Mason.
His main hobby was traveling. He’d visited all seven continents and most recently spent time on a houseboat on the Amazon River.
Mr. Anderson is survived by a sister, LaVera Adams of South Dakota; two brothers, Lyle Anderson and William Anderson, both of South Dakota; and eight nephews and nieces.
His wife, Maureen Anderson, died in 1980.
Services were held Tuesday. He was buried at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery in San Rafael.
Arrangements were handled by Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael.
