KATHLEEN OLSON FAHL
Former resident
Kathleen Louise Olson Fahl of Bemidji, Minn. – a former Marin County resident – died Sunday, April 11, 1993, at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji of heart failure. She was 39.
Mrs. Fahl was born in Marin Coounty and was a 1972 graduate of Sir Francis Drake High School She earned a degree in early childhood family education from the College of Marin.
In 1975 she married Mark Fahl. The couple lived in Tiburon for a time, where Mrs. Fahl was the director of the Tiburon-Belvedere Child Care Center.
They moved to Minnesota in 1980 and settle in Bagley. Mrs. Fahl became owner and director of the Open Arms Child Care Center.
She was also a member of the Bagley School Board for two years.
After moving to Bemidji in 1990, Mrs. Fahl was employed at the Bemidji State University campus child-care center.
Mrs. Fahl was a foster parent and a member of the Evangelical Covemant Church in Bemidji.
A guitarist and folk singer, she performed with her sisters in the folk group “County Morn.”
She was also a fabric artist, specializing in loom weaving.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Fahl is survived by a daughter, Aubrey Fahl of Bemidji; a son, Benjamin Fahl of Bemidji; her parents, Roy and Nancy Olson of Petaluma; four sisters, Debbie Barrall of San Anselmo, Maggie Ford of Sonoma County, Diane Vice of Dixon and Lee Anne Bertain of Rohnert Park; a brother, Roy “Mic” Olson of Petaluma; and her grandmothers, Eva Velasquez of Sonoma County and Juanita Finn of San Rafael.
A memorial Mass is set for 11 a.m. April 22 at the St. Anselm’s Church in San Anselmo.
Memorial contributions are preferred to any agency that benefits children.
