Lincoln’s partner’s kin
Kathryn M. Eck of Greenbrae – a granddaughter of Abraham Lincoln’s law partner and biographer, William Herndon – died Friday, April 9, 1993, at St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco. She was 96.
She was born in Saint Joseph, Mo.
Mrs. Eck lived in Marin County for 63 years.
She was an accomplished bridge player and enjoyed playing with friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Joan Bruzzone of Lafayette, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Private services were held yesterday. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery in San Rafael.
The arrangements were by Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo.
