J. W. Dolliver, Architect, Dies at Kentfield

Holding the receiver of a telephone and calling his physician, J. W. Dolliver, prominent architect and designer, residing at Kentfield, dropped dead on his bed Sunday, following a brief illness of but a few days. He was 68 years of age, and leaves a widow, Mrs. Martha Dolliver, and five children. The children are Walter, of Los Angeles; Emerson of Berkeley, and Lewis, Paul and Ruth who reside at home with their mother, in Kentfield.

Dolliver came with his family to Kentfield some years ago. He had gained a wide reputation as being most proficient in his chosen profession, and was engaged by the county of Sonoma as the designer of the present court house at Santa Rosa. He has also designed other substantial public and private buildings throughout the state. He was a native of this state; member of Oriental Lodge, F. & A.M. of San Francisco, and of the California Consistory of Scottish Rite.

The funeral took place Wednesday from the Sawyer Co. (Keaton & Dusel) in this city.
