Archie L. Hettrich Passes at Bayside Acres Saturday
Funeral services for Archibald L. Hettrich, 66, prominent importer, were held in the chapel of Keaton and Dusel Tuesday morning. Dr. John J. Canoles conducted the service.
Pall bearers were: J. A. Saunders, William Barr, Miller McNear, Mayor Frank Riede, R. H. Warden and Dr. G. G. Vanderlip.
Hettrich, known as “Archie” to his many friends, died at his Bayside Acres home Saturday evening, where he had lived for 30 years.
His life and career had been very active. Anative of Minneapolis, Hettrich came to Petaluma as a young man, where he operated the first telephone service between San Francisco and Petaluma.
He was Marin County fair fommissioner for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915. Much credit was due Hettric h for Marin’s exhibit, an admirable one, at the Exposition.
For years Hettrich was head of the importing and exporting firm of A. L. Hettrich & Co., in San Francisco, which he founded, retiring in 1932. He was a member of the Marin Good Roads Assn., Marin Lodge, F. and A. M. and the old San Rafael Club.
Deceased was the husband of Mary E. Hettrich, father of Mrs. Robert Sovulewski, and grandfather of Mary Elizabeth Sovuleski.
Interment took place in Cypress Lawn Cemetery.
