BOB TARANTINO

A Mass of Christian Burial for Bob Tarantino, Fairfax hardware store owner, will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rita’s Church in Fairfax.

Mr. Tarantino died Monday; he was 49.

He was born in San Francisco and served in the Navy during the Korean War. He moved to Fairfax with his wife and children about 17 years ago.

He was active in the Native Sons of the Golden West, Fairfax Parlor No. 307.

His family operates the Tarabell Smoked Fish company in San Francisco.

Mr. Tarantino is survived by his wife, Shirley Tarantino of Fairfax; two daughters, Regina Rupiper of Novato and Terry Shepley of Corte Madera; a son, Bob Tarantino of Fairfax; a sister, Jackie Vercelli of San Bruno; his parents, Ignatius and Mary Tarantino of San Francisco; and two grandchildren.

The rosary will be recited at 7:30 tonight at the Chapel of the Hills mortuary, San Anselmo. Friends may call at the mortuary after 5 p.m.

The family prefers memorial gifts to the Cleft Palate Fund, care of the Native Sons, Fairfax.
