Emelia A. Eden, 77, Dies
Was Member Of Pioneer Family

Mrs. Emelia A. Eden, 77, lifelong resident of San Rafael and member of a pioneer and prominent Marin County family, died Saturday night at a local hospital. Mrs. Eden, widow of Stephen Eden, had been an invalid for 15 years because of a spinal injury suffered in an accident, but death was caused by a heart ailment.

The San Rafael resident was the daughter of Henry Boyen, who came to the Marin County seat in the 1860s. She leaves three daughters, all San Rafael residents, Mrs. Walker Vaning (Stephanie Eden) and the Misses Doris and Gretchen Eden; a brother, Henry Boyen, San Francisco attorney; two sisters, Mrs. A. Roy Thompson (Dorothea Boyen) of Boston and Miss Emma Boyen of San Rafael; and two grandsons, Walker S. and Eden S. Vanning. (sic)

Friends may call at her late residence, 1006 Fifth avenue. Private funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at the family home. Burial will be in the family plot at Mt.Tamalpais Cemetery.
