WILLIAM N. HAHN

William N. Hahn of San Rafael, former senior vice president and general manager of Continental Air Services Inc., died Friday of cancer at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, R.I.

He was 61.

Mr. Hahn’s entire career was in aviation. He joined the Army Air Corps after Pearl Harbor and became a fist pilot on B-17s.

He flew combat missions with the Eighth Air Force in England and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with three clusters. He was released from active duty in 1945 with the rank of captain.

From 1967 to 1976, Mr. Hahn was employed by Continental Airlines, serving first as special assistant to the president. Subsequently, he became vice president and then senior vice president and general manager of Continental Air Services Inc., a subsidiary of Continental which provided flight serves (sic) to the U. S. Government, government contractors and oil companies engaged in exploratory drilling in Southeast Asia.

Mr. Hahn’s wife, the former Phyllis Kunzig, died in 1983.

He is survived by his mother, Marylee N. Hahn of Trumbull, Conn.; two sons, William N. Hahn Jr. and Frederick H. Hahn II of Dillon Beach; and a brother and two sisters.

Burial will be in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Scarborough, N.Y.
