Grim Reaper Busily Wields His Scythe
Mrs. Elna Nelson Hunt died in Olema Tuesday, January 6th, and was buried last Friday in the Olema Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Hunt came down from Sisson two weeks ago to spend the holidays with Mrs. Hunt’s family. After spending one week visiting relatives and friends, Mrs. Hunt was taken violently ill, and despite the best of medical care and the best of nursing, she passed away.
The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Wyllys Hall of San Rafael, assisted by a choir from his church. A large concourse of mourners followed the remains to their last resting place. People were there from all parts of the county, and from a distance. Among the number were Mrs. Sisson and daughter of Siskiyou County, Dr. and Mrs. Healey of San Francisco, Mrs. Abbot of Alameda, Mr. and Mrs. George Mason, Mrs. C. O. Sharpe, Mr. and Mrs. Reeves, and Mr. and Mrs. Clausen of Point Reyes. The casket was covered with beautiful floral pieces, tributes from loving friends.
Mrs. Hunt was beloved be all who knew her. She was formerly a teacher in the public schools of this county, and was eminently successful in her chosen work. She was a graduate of the San Jose Normal School. Besides her husband, two brothers, Edward and Walter Nelson, and two sisters, Lydia Nelson, and Mrs. Bertha Nelson Hall, are left to mourn her untimely end.
