Anne Charles
Political organizer

Funeral services for Anne Charles, a civic and political leader who died July 5, will be held at St. Sebastiam’s Catholic Church in Greenbrae at 2 p.m. Monday.

Mrs. Charles died of cancer after a seven-month illness. She was the wife of Peter Charles of Kentfield, and had a long and distinguished career in Marin as a political organizer and leader in the women’s movement.

She was a candidate for state Assembly in 1980 and was former state chairman of the National Women’s Political Caucus.
