S. S. McCurdy, A Pioneer Citizen of Bolinas, Passes Away

Samuel S. McCurdy, who for 47 years resided at Bolinas, passed away at his home in Berkeley last Wednesday evening, May 22nd, after a long illness.

Mr. McCurdy came to Bolinas when quite a young man, and through thrift and energy acquired large property holdings. He lived there until about three years ago when failing health made it necessary for him to give up ranch life and seek medical attention. He and his family settled in Berkeley, where he purchased a beautiful home and at which place he passed away.

The funeral was held Friday at Bolinas, the services being conducted by Rev. A. Needham, pastor of the M.E. Church of San Rafael.

Besides a host of friends, Mr. McCurdy leaves a large family to mourn his loss. They are, besides his widow, Alex S., Hugh I., David, Jane, Mrs. E. R. Strain, Eleanor, and Addie.
