Death of a Respected Pioneer Resident
Manuel T. Barreiros, an old pioneer of the State, died at his home here last Sunday. Mr. Barreiros was well known throughout the county, and was universally liked and respected. He was born in St. George, Portugal, and came to the United States in 1871. At that time he settled in California City, but after a short stay there moved to Sausalito and has been in business here ever since. At the time of his death he was 56 years of age and had been suffering for several months with dropsy.
Mr. Barreiros was a member of the Society of the Holy Ghost and the Ancient Order of Foresters. These fraternal orders will take charge of the funeral. He leaves two sisters, a brother, a nephew, and an estate valued at $30,000.
