Child Drowned at Point Reyes
Florence Teresa Gregoria, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gregoria, of Point Reyes, met her death Sunday morning while out playing near a creek back of the ranch. The morning of the sad accident the child had wandered from the house unobserved by the parents and went down to the creek which had become a raging torrent from the continued rains, and began playing when in some manner she fell into the swirling water and drowned before her presence was missed. When the fond mother did not see the little girl, she at once began a search. As by instinct, she went down to the creek and was horrified to find her little dear, cold in death, the body lodged against some brush in the muddy water.
Coroner Sawyer of San Rafael was summoned, holding the inquest there the same morning. The child was buried at Olema in the family plot. The family has the deep sympathy of everyone, in this their hour of sorrow.
The verdict of the Coroner’s jury was accidental death by drowning.
