Robert Diggs
Mass of the Christian Burial for Robert Digges Sr. of Kent Woodlands, retired engineer and construction-management consultant, was offered today.
Digges, 76, died Thursday in a local hospital after a brief illness.
He was a native of Chicago, Ill. and had lived in California since 1940 and in Marin since 1942.
For many years he was an engineer for Bechtel Corp. and during the war helped build ships at Marinship in Sausalito. After his retirement, he became a construction-management consultant; one of his largest projects was St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco.
Digges is survived by his wife, Margaret; a son, Robert Digges of San Marino, Los Angeles County; a sister, Sister Margaret Digges of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart, Kenwood, N.Y. and three grandchildren.
He was a member of the St. Francis Yacht Club in Belvedere.
Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael.

A paid death notice in the same paper adds that the Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Sebastian’s Church in Greenbrae. Arrangements by Chapel of the Hills, 330 Redhill Ave., San Anselmo.
