Widow of Former Sheriff Dies in East Bay City

Mrs. Henry Harrison, widow of former Sheriff Harrison, one of Marin county’s early day figures, passed away in Oakland last week. The Harrisons have been residents of the East Bay for a number of years.

Harrison was elected sheriff of Marin county in 1892 and served six years. He was succeeded by William P. Taylor, whose family is known throughout this section of the state. For many years Harrison was an engineer on the old North Pacific Railroad, now the N.W.P.R.R.

When Harrison stepped out of the sheriff’s office he became engineer at the jute mill, San Quentin, and was later captain of the yard. He also did special police work in San Francisco and Oakland. A daughter, Mrs. Eugene Biscailuz is the wife of the sheriff of Los Angeles county.
