Woman Burned To Death In Fall On Stove
Enveloped in flames when, overcome by weakness, she fell across a gas heater she had just lighted, Mrs. Julia F. Holt of Mill Valley was burned to death this morning. Mrs. Holt’s burning clothing set fire to the house, which was practically destroyed by the flames.
Firemen arriving at the Holt home at 3 Florence avenue at the call of a neighbor, Mrs. J. E. Wilson, found the body of Mrs. Holt lying across the heater. The damage to the house is declared to be more than $2000.
Mrs. Holt, who was the divorced wife of Cyril Holt, transfer agent of the Pacific Gas and Electric Co., in San Francisco, and who had been in ill health, is believed to have fainted and fallen after lighting the gas heater.
Mrs. Holt was president of the Summit school Parent-Teacher Association and a former secretary of the Outdoor Art Club. She was 50 years of age, and is survived by three children: Barbara Holt, a student at the University of California, and Peggy and Jack, who attend the Summit school in Mill Valley.
