Eugene Harvey
IRS accountant
Eugene T. Harvey, longtime Ross resident who had been active in various local groups, died Monday, Sept. 3, 1990, at his home after an illness of about two months. He was 80.
Mr. Harvey was born and reared in San Francisco, attending Polytechnic High School and the University of San Francisco. During World War II, her served as a lieutenant junior grade with the Navy.
After the war he went to work for the Internal Revenue Services, where he was am accountant for 40 years. He retired about 1970.
Mr. Harvey and his wife, Cecelia, had lived in Marin since 1952.
He was active with Sons in Retirement, Sierra Club of Marin and St. Anselm’s Parish in Ross.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Harvey is survived by his brother, Wesley J. Harvey; and his sister, Genevieve Flaherty, both of San Francisco.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Anselm’s Church in Ross. Burial will follow at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 this evening at the Chapel of the Hills mortuary in San Anselmo.
