Dairy Employe (sic) Dies As Result Of Burns
Victim of Accident Passes Away at Hospital
John Perry, an employe (sic) of the San Francisco Dairy Co., who was terribly burned when he accidentally set his clothing on fire while cleaning an automobile at Bolinas several weeks ago, died on Saturday at Ross General Hospital, where he was removed after the accident. The body was taken in charge by Coroner J. Ray Keaton, and was later removed to Oakland for interment. An inquest will be held, although there is no doubt that Perry’s death was the result of an accident.
According to the report to the coroner, Perry had been cleaning an automobile with gasoline, and had spattered a quantity of the fluid on his clothing. In lighting a cigaret (sic) he accidentally touched the match to his sleeve and a moment later was enveloped in flames. His clothing was almost entirely burned away before fellow workmen could smother the flames.
