Lorenz G. Jessen

A funeral for Lorenz G. Jessen, a longtime Petaluma resident, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Parent Funeral Chapel, Petaluma.

Jessen, 85, died Monday at a local hospital after a long illness. A native of Ohio, he came to California with his family in 1900, settling in Petaluma.

Jessen operated a ranch on Eastman Lane for many years and had also worked at the shipyards in Sausalito and as a carpenter in Novato. Since retiring, he had raised flowers as a hobby.

He is survived by his wife, Ziska Jessen.

Entombment will be at Cypress Hill Memorial Park.
