Aged Fairfax Man Instantly Killed By Auto
Charles Mann is Victim of Fatal Accident While on His Way Home

Struck down in Fairfax on Sunday night by an automobile driven by James Prooly, superintendent of the Bolinas station of the Radio Corporation of America, Charles Mann, 65, was instantly killed in what authorities declare to have been an unavoidable accident. Mann was on his way home at the time.

Chief of Police Andrew Peri, after an investigation of the crash, stated that several witnesses testified that the aged man had walked directly in front of the machine, which was traveling at a moderate rate of speed near the Fairfax depot. Prooly was not arrested.

Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Keaton & Dusel funeral parlor in San Rafael.

Blood Stained Will Found In Pocket of Man Killed By Auto Filed For Probate
Document Names Thomas Jordan, Fairfax Attorney, Executor of Estate

A bloodstained will, found in the pocket of Charles Mann, Fairfax man who was accidentally killed last Sunday night, was filed for probate today in San Rafael. Mann was struck by the car of Charles Prooley, superintendent of the Bolinas radio station, last Sunday evening.

The document, addressed to Thos. C. Jordan, Fairfax attorney, reads as follows:
Fairfax, Oct. 30, 1927
Thomas C. Jordan
Dear Sir: If I should pass out, please take charge of my estate. When settled and sold, divide between Homer Wallace of Healdsburg, and my brother, Alex. Mann, whose address is Hamilton, Canada. I do not want you to furnish bonds, as I have faith in your honesty.

In applying to be appointed executor of the will, Jordan stated that the estate consisted of Marin county real estate and does not exceed $10,000 in value.
