MARY OLSEN
Church secretary
Mary Olsen of Novato, a former secretary at Bethel Baptist Church in Novato, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 27, 1991, at home. She was 65.
Mrs. Olsen, a 28-year Novato resident, was born in Laurel, Miss.
She was a homemaker and a secretary for 10 years at Bethel Baptist Church in Novato.
Mrs. Olsen traveled to Central and South America and Canada with her husband, William J. Olsen of Novato, an Air Force Pilot for 24 years.
She was an active member of the Sports Car Club of America as her husband and son have raced cars for many years. In addition, she worked at the race track helping organize lunches and other social activities following races.
Needlepoint was another of her hobbies.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, William J. Olsen II of Rohnert Park; three brothers, Albert Fairchild of Mountain View, Billy Fairchild of Laurel, Miss., and Leo Fairchild of Brookhaven, Miss.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will be at Valley Memorial Park, Novato.
