Funeral Services Held for Geo. H. T. Jackson

George H. T. Jackson, 61, president and manager of the Napa Soda Company and a resident of San Anselmo for a number of years, shot himself to death in Golden Gate Park on March 6. His body was discovered in the bushes near a footpath with a bullet through the head.

A note saying that he was despondent over ill health and could not bear the thought of having “to be isolated in a sanitarium” was found near the body.

Born in Newport, Kentucky, Jackson had lived in California since his early boyhood. He, with his brothers, had carried on the soda water business established by his father, the late Colonel John P. Jackson, who was at one time port collector of San Francisco.

His wife, Mrs. Mary Jackson, who died two years ago, was well known for her activities in the Marin Chapter of the Red Cross. The family home was at 110 Hillside avenue, San Anselmo.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon last in San Francisco.
