Popular Mill Valley Girl Passes Away
Daughter of Well Known Pioneer Family Dies After Brief Illness
MILL VALLEY, March 29 – Miss Elsa Roemer, a member of one of Mill Valley’s earliest pioneer families, died of appendicitis at St. Luke’s Hospital on Wednesday.
Miss Roemer was well known in educational and social circles, being a graduate of Tamalpais high school and of Mill College and a graduate of the University of California. Until her recent illness she was a member of the faculty of t he Hayward high school, and her fellow members are deeply grieved over the loss of a brilliant associate and her students of a capable teacher and an understanding friend.
She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Roemer; three brothers, Oscar Roemer Jr., of Mill Valley, Fred Roemer of Chicago and Paul Roemer of Oakland, and three sisters, Mrs. A. J. Dunker of San Mateo, Mrs. Agnes Grove of San Francisco and Mrs. Will Falley of Mill Valley.
Funeral services will be private and will be held at the home of Mrs. Agnes Grove in San Francisco.
