Rob’t. Furlong, Pioneer Marin Educator, Dead
Former County Superintendent Of Schools, Dies After Long Illness
Robert Furlong, superintendent of schools of Marin county from 1887 to 1903, died today after a long illness. As an educator Mr. Furlong was known all over the state.
He came to Marin county in 1877 and taught schools in Olema, Sausalito and Tomales.
A member of Marin lodge, F. & A. M., he was master of that organization for two years.
He leaves a widow and four children, Mrs. Army Short, Dr. Robert M. Furlong, Irving Furlong and Hartley Furlong.
The funeral will he held under Masonic auspices at the Masonic Temple on Monday.
