Bolinas Rancher Influenza Victim

John A. Foster, one of the prominent ranchers of Bolinas, passed away last Friday, a victim of influenza, after an illness of about ten days.

He had been a resident of Bolinas for a great many years and had gained the respect of every man with whom he came in contact in business and social circles. At one time during Mr. Foster’s illness every member of his family was suffering with influenza. Mrs. Foster now is reported to be seriously ill.

Owing to the death of Mr. Foster, the trial of John Lichtman, who had been charged by Foster with grand larceny following the loss of a cow, was postponed in the Superior Court for two weeks.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ernestine Foster, and six children, John, Mary, Antone, Rosa, Palameda and Manuel Foster. He was 46 years of age and a native of Azores Islands.
