Nelson R. Green Dies At 77
Nelson R. Green of Larkspur, a retired farmer, died today at a local hospital after a long illness. He was 77.
Born in Kinsley, Kan., he moved to New Mexico as a child where he became a farmer as a young man. He moved to Arkansas in 1936 and farmed there until coming to Larkspur 16 years ago. He resided at 137 Hawthorne Avenue.
After coming to Marin he was employed for four years as a laborer with the E. T. Hass Construction Co. before retiring 10 years ago.
He and his wife, May Green, celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary last April.
He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Laura Turner of Petaluma, Lucile Norris, Janie Speak, both of Novato; seven sons, Dale G. Green of Novato, Nelson C. Green of San Rafael, Clarence E. Green of San Anselmo, Leland F. Green of Larkspur, Robert L. Green of Mount Home, Ark., Ronald Green of Petaluma and Corrin J. Green of Phoenix, Ariz.; 27 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral will be tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at the Harry M. Williams Mortuary in San Rafael with burial at Marin Memorial Gardens, Novato.
