Mary Ann Silveira, a native of Azores Islands, aged 96 years, died at Sausalito January 3. She had been a resident of California for 32 years and had been in bed for 15 years. The News gives loss of strength as the cause of remaining in bed so long, but one published report says it was her fancy.
