Alice Zander, Young Teacher, Is Mourned
The death of Miss Alice Louise Zander, 26 year old Mill Valley kindergarten teacher, is the cause of much grief among her many friends in Marin where she attended the Tamalpais High School, graduated from there in 1927.
Miss Zander’s passing last Friday night followed an illness which started this summer. After her graduation from high school, she attended the San Francisco State Teachers’ College, from which she graduated in 1931. Following a year teaching in Martinez, she was placed in the Summit School, Mill Valley, where she instructed the kindergarten.
She was the daughter of Charles and Emma Zander, the sister of Gladys, Florence, Leone and Carl Zander, and the late Mrs. Emerson Dawson (Pauline Zander) and niece of Mrs. Bertha A. Matthews, and a native of Charles City, Iowa.
