Death of William Barber

Death of another prominent citizen of Ross Valley is recorded. On Sunday William Barber passed away at the age of 80 years. Mr. Barber was for many years a prominent attorney of San Francisco, but for a few years past has resided quietly in Ross Valley where he owned large and valuable realty interests. He was educated in New York and came to California in 1850, and for 35 years was a resident of Ross Valley. He was at one time district attorney of San Francisco and several years ago declined the judgeship which the governor offered him. The funeral services were privately conducted in San Francisco. He leaves a wife and two daughters.
