Young Girl Drowned in Russian River
After an all night search, the body of Lella Patrick, the 19 year old San Francisco girl who was drowned last Tuesday while bathing in the Russian River at the Summer Home park resort, was recovered.
Accompanied by the young woman’s foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Salfield, the body was taken to San Francisco in the afternoon for interment. Miss Patrick was an orphan and was adopted three years ago by the Salfields.
Miss Patrick could not swim but greatly enjoyed going into the water and was learning to float. She went into the river Tuesday afternoon shortly after 3 o’clock and was amusing herself by floating on her back when when was probably seized by cramps and sank.
