Sausalito Man Is Found Dead

John Gerard Reynolds, 51, of 215 Marin Street, Apt. 405, Sausalito, was found dead at his home yesterday of a gunshot wound, which the Marin County Coroner’s office said was apparently self-inflicted.

Reynolds’ wife, Marie, said she returned home at 6:35 p.m. and found his body on the bed. Reynolds had been shot once in the chest and a pistol was found beside the bed. A neighbor reported talking with Reynolds at 5 p.m.

Mrs. Reynolds said her husband was despondent over his job. He had been a teller with the San Francisco Parks and Recreation Department for the past year.

A native of Connecticut, Reynolds had lived six years in California and one year in Marin. Funeral is pending at Russell and Gooch Mortuary, Mill Valley.
