Elsie Gowdy Dies At Family Home

Miss Elsie Gowdy, a resident of Mill Valley for 22 years, died at the family home at 346 Laverne avenue on Sunday. She was a native of Illinois.

Funeral services for the family were held Wednesday at the Chapel of t he Chimes in Santa Rosa.

Miss Gowdy was the daughter of Lafayette L. Gowdy and the late Meta Gowdy; the sister of Arthur S. Gowdy of Santa Rosa, Mrs. Florence E. Bateson of Fullerton, Mrs. May McCann and Mrs. Edna M. Shepherd of Shetland, Washington; the late George Gowdy of Klamath Falls and Evalyn Albretch of Chicago.

She was a member of the Homestead Fire Department ladies auxiliary.
