Aged Gardener Found Dead
Michael Lack, age 75 years, who has been employed for a number of years as gardener for different San Rafael residents, was found dead in his home on Taylor street about noon Monday.
John Matterer, a friend of Lack’s, called at the house where Lack lived alone. Noticing the Sunday paper still rolled on the front porch, he looked through the window and saw Lack lying on the bed. Failing to arouse him, Matterer hurried to Dr. Sawyer’s office and reported the matter. It is believed Lack had been dead since Saturday night. He leaves an estate of about $1,000, and no relatives so far as is known. The funeral will be held today under the direction of Dr. Sawyer, and mass will be celebrated at St. Raphael’s church.
