Brian Lewis Grady
Peacefully, with his family at his side, Brian passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2002. He was 63. He lived most of his life under the care of Cedars of Marin. He was a uniquely special person with a sweet and gentle nature that endeared him to all who knew him. He was an award-winning gifted artist, who enjoyed a variety of artistic endeavors, which he continued to pursue throughout his life. Brian was also a Special Olympics Athlete and had competed in the very first Olympics held in Marin County. He earned numerous medals in the years to follow for his long distance running. He loved music, traveling, and being with people. His family will be forever grateful to all the staff at Cedars who loved and cherished him and gave him the opportunity to live a rich and full life. He will be loved and remembered by his father Robert Grady, his sister and brother-in-law Sheila and John Rumsey, his brother and sister-in-law Keith and Susan Grady, three nieces, one nephew, three grand nephews and all his loving family at Cedars. He was predeceased by his mother Bernice Lewis Grady in 1995. A small funeral Mass will be celebrated for him at the Mission Chapel at St. Raphael's on Wednesday, January 16th at 1:30 in the afternoon. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to Cedars of Marin, P.O. Box 947, Ross, CA 94957, Hospice of Marin, 150 Nellen Ave., Corte Madera, 94925 or to the Marin Special Olympics, 500 Tamalpais Dr., Corte Madera, CA 94925.
