Ex-Fairfax Man Killed In Air Crash
A former Fairfax man, husband of Mrs. Maxine Musick of 145 Dominga Avenue, Fairfax, was killed Sunday in the crash of a light airplane near Anchorage, Alaska, his family has learned.
Troyce Muscik,, 38, had been in Alaska since last fall, working for Safeway Stores, Inc. He lived in Fairfax about 1961, moving to Hayward before he went to Alaska.
Word of his death came in a wire Wednesday from an Anchorage mortuary, according to his stepmother, Mrs. Lewis D. Musick of Oakland. Two other men were thrown clear of the plane before it exploded. They survived.
Musick was a Navy pilot during World War II, and had flown for years, his stepmother said.
A native of Childreth, Tex., he came to California as a boy and grew up in Marysville. He worked for several retail and wholesale firms while in California.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Trina Musick of Fairfax and Carleen Musick of Grass Valley; two sons, Mark of Fairfax and Darrell Musick of Grass Valley; his father, Lewis D. Musick of Oakland; his stepmother; a brother, Lewis D. Musick Jr. of Stockton; and two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Z. Davis of New York and Mrs. Patricia E. Kooyer of Menlo Park.
Funeral will be at 2:15 p.m. Monday at the San Bruno Funeral Home, 200 West San Bruno Avenue, San Bruno. Burial will be in Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno.
