CARL HANSEN SR.

Carl Hansen Sr. of Novato died Friday in a local hospital after a two-week illness. He was 88.

A native of Denmark, Hansen emigrated to the United States when he was 18. He was a tool engineer and lived in Milwaukee for 60 years, moving to Marin after he retired in 1961.

He was a Mason.

He is survived by three sons, Russell C. Hansen of Cupertino, Kenneth A. Hansen of San Rafael and Carl Hansen Jr. of Kentfield; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandson. His wife, Dorothy E. Hansen, died in 1972.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Keaton’s Mortuary, San Rafael. Burial will be in Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael.

His family asked that memorial contributions go to a favorite charity.
