T. G. Olsen

Funeral for T. Gordon (Ole) Olson (sic), a longtime resident of Southern Sonoma County, will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Parent funeral Chapel in Petaluma.

Olsen, 66, a native of Alameda, died at his Marshall Avenue home in Petaluma Sunday after a brief illness.

He came to Petaluma as a child and attended local schools. He later studied business at Armstrong College in Berkeley.

For many years he worked for the Tomasini hardware store in Petaluma, and local children knew him as the store’s Santa Claus during the Christmas season. He later was a salesman for the Petaluma Pump and Well Co. and for the Les Petersen well drilling firm.

Olsen was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was a commander of the Royal Order of the Purple Heart, both in Petaluma. He was a past president of the Petaluma Optimist Club and a member of the city’s Elks and Danish Lodges.

He is survived by a sister, Melba Olsen of Vallejo.

Inurnment will be in Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma, with members of the Royal Order of the Purple Heart holding special services.
