Hewelcke Rites Set Tomorrow

Mrs. Frances Marie (Fanny) Hewelcke of San Rafael, widow of the late Louis H. Hewelcke, died at a local convalescent home yesterday after a long illness. A native of San Francisco, she was 75.

She had spent nearly her entire life in Marin County, first at San Quentin Village and then in San Rafael since 1906. She had lived at 42 Delores street, San Rafael, until she entered the convalescent home about two years ago. Her husband was a San Rafael fireman who died of a heart attack about 18 years ago while fighting a fire.

Mrs. Hewelcke was the mother of Mrs. Nelson Faulkner of Salinas and L. Henry Hewelcke of San Rafael; sister of Mrs. Elizabeth Morris of Oakland, Mrs. Estelle Blank of Sacramento, Mrs. Grace Leonard of Santa Cruz, Mrs. Carrie Vermeyen and Mrs. Aileen Schlosser of San Rafael. She also is survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Woodwardia Circle 663, Neighbors of Woodcraft.

Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. tomorrow from the Harry M. Williams Mortuary, San Rafael, thence to St. Raphael’s Church for Requiem Mass. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael. Recitation of the Rosary is set for 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that her grandchildren were Mrs. Joseph Santos of Sacramento, Jim Faulkner of Salinas and Cathy Hewelcke of San Rafael; her great-grandchildren were Jeanne Marie and Terilyn Rae Santos.
