Funeral services will be held Thursday in San Francisco for Clarence W. Hickock, resident of Greenbrae for 12 years and retired educator and school consultant, who died in London Wednesday after a two-month illness.
Hickock, in his 60s, retired as a consultant for the Falk and Boothe, architect-engineers in San Francisco, Jan. 1 and left on a seven-month trailer tour of Europe with his wife the following month.
He was a native of Iowa and a graduate of the University of Oregon. He did post graduate work at the University of California, University of Colorado and the University of Oregon.
At one time he was a high school teacher and director of adult education at Lindsay, Calif., and served stints in both World War I and World War II.
Hickock was an active member of the Commonwealth Club.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth M. Hickock; a daughter, Susan Janet Butcher of Santa Barbara, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Halsted and Co., 1123 Sutter Street, San Francisco. Interment will be at Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno. The family has requested contributions to the Cancer Fund.
