Funeral Is Held For E. A. Hiniker, Once of Larkspur

Friends in the Twin Cities are extending sympathy to Mrs. Marie C. Fleming of Larkspur whose oldest son, E. Arnaud Hiniker, died at Veterans Hospital last Friday. Funeral services were held yesterday by the Hollywood Post VFW of Alameda of which Hiniker was past Commander in Chief.

If Arnaud had lived until May he would have been 53 years old. When he was an infant his parents came to Larkspur to make their home. In addition to his mother, Hiniker is survived by his son William and one sister, Mrs. Ernest Collin of San Rafael and two brothers, F. R. Hiniker of Los Angeles, and G. E. Hiniker of Alameda. Arnaud’s wife, Ethel, died just one year ago.

Hiniker was a veteran of World War I, being the first larkspur man to enlist for duty. He served as a radio man on the USS Kentucky and on a captured ship the “Omsk”.

For the past 27 years Hiniker was an employee of the telephone company. A large delegation of Marin people journeyed to Oakland to attend the services yesterday.
