Shipyard Worker Is Instantly Killed as Auto Crashes Tree
Conrad F. Hans, 44, Richmond shipyard worker, was instantly killed last Thursday evening when the auto in which [he] was driving to his San Anselmo home, skidded into a tree on West Fourth Street, San Rafael.
Geo. E. Phillips of 10 Dunand Street, was in the car at the time of the accident, but escaped uninjured.
Mr. Hans was a World War veteran, and was employed as a pile driver at Richmond.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Dorothy Hans; six children, Merlin, Doris, LaRue, Ronald, Carline and William Hans; three brothers, Henry, Louis and Hugo Hans; three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Jewett, Mrs. Matt Modow and Mrs. Wm. Faubel of Nebraska.
He was a native of Nebraska and a member of Piledrivers and Bridge, Wharf and Dock Builders Union No. 34.
